Released in 1988 and named after Jim Marshall himself, the original The Guv’nor pedal was the first stompbox that squeezed Marshall’s “big black box” sound into a little black box! Setting the standard for distortion, The Guv’nor was adored for providing a smooth overdriven sound with a touch of musical compression, all the way to a cranked and heavy amp-style gain tone. Fast-forward to the present day, and this Vintage Reissue is here to do it all over again!
The Marshall Reissue edition of The Guv’nor faithfully captures the classic sound of the original pedal and comes housed in a casing that’s accurately modelled on the original, from the unique shape right down to the individually-coloured control knobs. Everything has been painstakingly reproduced in the same factory that has been building Marshall amplifiers for more than sixty years. All that’s missing are the stories you collect over 30+ years of use, but that’s where you come in!

The live draw will take place on the Guitar Gear Giveaway Facebook page and the Guitar Talk Youtube channel using Google’s random number generator to select the winning ticket number from all Entrants.

How does it work?
We host 2 live draws every single week – Monday and Thursday at 6pm. The draws stream live on YouTube and Facebook.
Our fixed odds competitions have a limited amount of tickets and clearly show the ticket price, number of tickets and the draw date.
There are no extensions and no rollovers; we draw the winner regardless of how many tickets are sold.
Are your guitars new or preloved?
Most of what we do is pre-loved, but there are also a number of guitars on the site that are new (Instant Win competitions, for example). We always state in the prize description whether a guitar is new or pre-loved, and in most cases, we also add the year and a condition description.
How do I get my ticket number(s)?
Once your order has been placed your ticket number(s) will be randomly allocated and will show on your order confirmation. They will also be emailed to you, and will be available in the my account area.
What is an Auto Draw and how does it work?
Auto draw prizes are drawn using a third-party (Think Zap) random draw algorithm. The Auto Draw will take place as soon as a prize is sold out or on the guaranteed draw date/time shown on the prize page.
All prizes have a guaranteed draw date and winner, even if the tickets don’t sell out.
