WIN THIS SUPER RARE 40 YEAR OLD GIBSON

+100 INSTANT WINS BELOW

What do you get when you cross a Les Paul and an Explorer?! We aren’t sure either, but it went something like this

Built in 1985 when Gibson was experimenting with some of their rarest builds, this is a super versatile rock machine! Looking to revive the classic Les Paul Jr double Cut body shape whilst spicing up their mid 80’s range for the rise in hard rock players, Gibson added a slim taper neck and an Explorer-style hockey stick style headstock to create the Les Paul XPL. Put all this together and you get the familiar comfort and feel of a Les Paul but with the added flair and attitude of the XPL (Explorer…. you see what they did there) headstock.

If owning a rare 40-year-old Gibson wasn’t enough for you, it’s packed with other little hidden surprises – the bridge is loaded with a very rarely seen and collectable ‘double cable’ Dirty Fingers humbucker providing huge tones, splittable with the tone pot. On top of that, you have a rare Gibson-branded Kahler stud mount trem system, which featured on only a few models in the mid 80’s before switching to Kahler branding. Because the Kahler is stud-mounted, if you want to take it off and put a standard tune-o-matic bridge on with no modding, it’s as easy as undoing 4 screws and putting a tune-o-matic in its place! Add to this the 2 Gibson single coils selectable with individual on/off switches, you’ve got an incredibly versatile guitar. It’s been gigged hard and we can see and hear why – comfort, looks and tone!

How does it work?

We host 2 live draws every single week – Monday and Thursday at 6pm. The draws stream live on YouTube and Facebook.

Our fixed odds competitions have a limited amount of tickets and clearly show the ticket price, number of tickets and the draw date.

There are no extensions and no rollovers; we draw the winner regardless of how many tickets are sold.

Are your guitars new or preloved?

Most of what we do is pre-loved, but there are also a number of guitars on the site that are new (Instant Win competitions, for example). We always state in the prize description whether a guitar is new or pre-loved, and in most cases, we also add the year and a condition description.

How do I get my ticket number(s)?

Once your order has been placed your ticket number(s) will be randomly allocated and will show on your order confirmation. They will also be emailed to you, and will be available in the my account area.

What is an Auto Draw and how does it work?

Auto draw prizes are drawn using a third-party (Think Zap) random draw algorithm. The Auto Draw will take place as soon as a prize is sold out or on the guaranteed draw date/time shown on the prize page.

All prizes have a guaranteed draw date and winner, even if the tickets don’t sell out.
