The Explorer™ was first introduced in 1958. While it was less than enthusiastically received at the time, guitarists discovered its many charms as the years passed. Rockers embraced its futuristic shape and powerful sound by the 1970s, but during the hard-rockin’ 80s, the model came into its own and was adopted by some of the greatest players of the decade. The new Explorer 80s EMG is based on the popular 1984 model. The 1984 Gibson Explorer is an iconic electric guitar that stands out for its distinctive design and massive tones. Players like The Edge, Billy Gibbons, and James Hetfield have all wielded Explorers, contributing to their legendary status. Live draw date: March 12, 2026. We never extend our draws regardless of how many tickets have sold. If a competition sells out early then we will bring the draw date forward to the next available live draw.
You may enter this competition up to 199 times.
Your ticket number(s) will be randomly allocated when ordering and you will receive an email confirmation of these numbers. They are also available to see in your account on our website.
The live draw will take place on the Guitar Gear Giveaway Facebook page and the Guitar Talk Youtube channel using Google’s random number generator to select the winning ticket number from all Entrants.

How does it work?
We host 2 live draws every single week – Monday and Thursday at 6pm. The draws stream live on YouTube and Facebook.
Our fixed odds competitions have a limited amount of tickets and clearly show the ticket price, number of tickets and the draw date.
There are no extensions and no rollovers; we draw the winner regardless of how many tickets are sold.
Are your guitars new or preloved?
Most of what we do is pre-loved, but there are also a number of guitars on the site that are new (Instant Win competitions, for example). We always state in the prize description whether a guitar is new or pre-loved, and in most cases, we also add the year and a condition description.
How do I get my ticket number(s)?
Once your order has been placed your ticket number(s) will be randomly allocated and will show on your order confirmation. They will also be emailed to you, and will be available in the my account area.
What is an Auto Draw and how does it work?
Auto draw prizes are drawn using a third-party (Think Zap) random draw algorithm. The Auto Draw will take place as soon as a prize is sold out or on the guaranteed draw date/time shown on the prize page.
All prizes have a guaranteed draw date and winner, even if the tickets don’t sell out.
